Honeymoon Reviews

11/16/2007   We checked in to find no champagne and strawberries as promised on the honeymoons inc. Website. Also, no TV, a hole in the wall, 1 towel and poorly maintained room. We were upgraded to a slightly better room, but it was below our expectations. The resort was nice, the rooms were just okay. The service was inconsistent.

Simple and Easy Honeymoon Experience.

06/09/2007   Easy weekend get away and fairly inexpensive. Nice Hotel with easy access to downtown shops and nearby restaurants. As a couple's resort I was expecting something special for those celebrating their honeymoons, but nothing. Friendly staff and lot of restaurants. The only real dissaapointment was that not one of the restaurants served typical island cuisine.

Go to the Bahamas!

06/09/2007   This was the most wonderful place We have ever been. We were treated like royalty. The beach was beautiful the locals were so nice and friendly. This experience made us decide to purchase property there someday.

Fantastic

08/17/2006   We had the best time at SRB. The beach was crystal clear, the resort was pretty, the food was incredible, the service was excellent, our view was great, the drinks were outstanding and always waiting, the pool bar was the best, the private island was very cool, there were alot of places to be alone besides your room, there were a ton of things to do besides sit around, but still very relaxing. We are still on cloud nine, and we are going back next year with another couple. I would reccommend this resort to anyone who like to eat, drink, and relax. Good Luck

Love is truly all you need................

07/31/2006   Upon arrival at the hotel you are greeted with smiles and congratulatory remarks. You are then ushered into the lobby where a champagne welcome awaits you. (My advice...try to complete your registration through the sales department before your arrival as to not be detained). Our sales associate was able to upgrade us to an ocean view room in the Manor Tower of the hotel, the view of which was in one word....breathtaking. There are many activities planned for you to do both day and night. But if you don't feel up to beach volleyball and the ever 'relaxing' poolside trivia, you are able to kayak across the open blue tranquil waters, rent a jet ski, explore the corals while snorkeling, grab a lounge chair and catch the rays, or my fave grab your honey and dive right into the beckoning blue waters. As for food, there are so many restaurants to choose from that finding one to please your palate shouldn't be a problem, (my faves... Spices for breakfast, Cricket Club for lunch). For dinner,I highly reccomend the Crystal Room and the Baccarat Restaurant (they make a rack of lamb to die for), both of these require reservations so book as soon as possible. The nightlife at the hotel was really entertaining, every night there is a disco for those who like to dance til the wee hours of the morning. Each night there was a different performance in the theatre, one night you had a comedian, another a live band belting out the good ole classics as well as some true Bahamian music, and yet another night one of the best Bahamian performers came to show you how to really dance like a true Bahamian. You may even get a chance to be a part of the famous Newlywed game, or play the greatest game ever 'Bingo!' (with a little added twist). The staff at the hotel was great, and were always happy to comply with your requests. So be prepared to laugh, drink, play and enjoy your first days as husband and wife, (I know I did!)

07/30/2006   It was very good everything was included even the drinks. Activities every day

Sandals Royal Bahemian Spa and Resort - The Perfect Honeymoon Choice

07/19/2006   The resort was awesome. I am a person who can not sit still for more than 20 minutes and my wife is a person who can sit at the beach and read all day. I really don't care for the beach though. The great thing about this spot is that the pool is vurtually on the beach, to accomodate both of us. She could get the beach feel by being by the pool near me. The resort had activities planned each day. Beach volleyball, pool volleyball, and pool basketball were among the activities I looked forward to each day, while my wife was lying out reading a book. Even at times when no beach or pool activity was scheduled, we told the activity schedulers we wanted to play, and they put things together for us. With the free drinks, the place was not a spring break scene. During the day, the pool wouldn't be crowded, but when the band played at the one pool, that one would have more people than normal, but not enough to make anyone feel uncomfortable. There was still plenty of room for us to be away from people if we wanted. Though the resort is not as big as what I thought it would be, it was big enough to give everyone enough space to have intimate moments. The best thing of all was no kids. We are school teachers and didn't want to be around younger kids, and especially students we may have had in class, so this was the perfect spot for us. The rooms were clean, and always picked up. We had a fridge which was stocked two times a day. Towels were replenished also two times per day. They did have alcohol to drink in the room that was complimentary but we don't get into that. We actually heard people saying they changed what was stocked in thier fridge according to what they were drinking. If they wanted more beer instead of club soda, they got it. The hard liquor bottles were replunished each day. The food was second to none. I have eaten at good places here in the states, but the night time menus at the restaurants were awesome. The service was impecible. We wish we would have been able to tip we were so impressed with the service. Here are some restaurants and hints: The pub had good burgers, and a great steak. They serve up to 7 in the morning. See Sibbion for a booty call - taste like pineapple with a lot of something he won't tell in it. Kimonos - Japanese place was good, similar to a Benihanas. The entertainment is dependant on the chef, but the food is excellent. Baccarat - this place is very elegant and is small so make reservations early. Foget the menu, but it was really good. The Crystal Room- this place is a must go. The steak medallions is great. Kendall is the man if he is avialable. He will do anything to make it romantic, anything! The italian restaurant is not my favorite. The food was ok, if having to choose between the other restaurants and this one, choose the other ones. Now my wife liked it, but the lasagna was soupy, that just isn't right! The Goombay Cafe- we didn't go to. We cancelled due to bugs getting to us. The day before our reservations, we took a day trip over to the island where the restuarant is. We were itching on our legs, so we decided not to go over for the dinner. We heard from others they give you spray as you arrive and everything is great. One thing to note, is that me and my wife are very picky eaters and I think we both gained five pounds, and we are petite in size. My wife doesn't like seafood either, and a lot of the menus have seafood of some sort. The activities scuba lessons, aquatrike (tough with high winds) Sailing (for the first time was fun) Wind Surfing (its tough, but should try it) Snorkling trips (heard from people who went the fish were beautiful and did see some sharks)

07/14/2006   This was a trip of a lifetime...we absolutely loved it! Here are a few words of advice to those of you who book this amazing resort: Make sure you pack a swimsuit in your carry on. We wished we would have. You are not able to check into your room until 3ish so you have plenty of down time to lay by the pool. Once your room is ready someone gives you a bag of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and aloe before they walk you to your room while giving you a brief tour of the resort. Your luggage is brought to your room shortly. We liked to sleep-in so we got up early to put towels on chairs by the pool. Although I don't know that is necessary for early risers. Make sure to take advantage of their free watersports! We definately enjoyed sailing. I wish we would have gone more than once. It is such a romantic experience as you and your husband sail the ocean by yourselves! The manor pool has activities throughout the day. My husband enjoy a variety of these: pool volleyball, pool basketball, and beach volleyball. While my husband enjoyed these activities I floated around the pool on one of the rafts provided! There are a few bars, a pool bar in each pool to accomodate your thirst. There are always at least two restaurants open to grab a bite to eat. The staff is the most friendly of anywhere we have been, even the U.S. The staff was always trying to help make the trip go above and beyond. They will also take pictures. You can purchase any of the photos you like. We had the picture put on a CD and have the rights to print them as often as we like. I really can't say enough about the staff and their hospitality. It is second to none and worth it to go there. The food was second to none. I reccomend all the restaurants. We ate at all of them except the off shore island, and didn't complain one time. I definately recomment making reservations at Crystal Room and Baccarat the 1st night you get there as they book fast. These restaurants are amazing. They are very romantic! We also did a dinner on the beach for an extra cost. It was definately worth every penny. It was by far the most romantic dinner we have ever had. We felt like we were the only ones on the beach. Once again the food was excellent! We didn't do the off shore island because a day before our reservations we took the ferry boat ride over (3 minutes max) and we had gotten bitten by something. Our legs itched badly! The island is ok if you like to see a better beach with fish swimming around you. I recommend everyone atleast go check it out and you decide. We enjoy the pool and the pool had a film floating on it (This was the only pool I ever thought was dirty), so we left on the first boat ride back. Rumor was the food at night over there was good. The people said we you arrived they gave you bug spray and they were fine. Definately go to the pub and ask Shavaughn for a booty call. It tastes like pineapple juice, but has a little kick to it. He is the only one that knows how to make it, his signature drink. The nightly entertainment was good. The comedian was the best!!!! The late night buffets were amazing. We definatly plan to go back to Sandals Bahamas, and reccommend it to everyone- honeymoon, middle age, or retirement. We met people of all generations and had a good time. The great thing is not kids, we checked out the Atlantis on a little trip to town. It was huge - too big for us to walk that far to the pool and beach each day. And the food was outrageous cost wise. The service was not to par with Sandals. I do suggest going to the straw market downtown - take bus 10, it is one dollar per person. The bus driver will get you to the right spot. It is fun to bargain and they have tons of fake purses for you ladies! If you want to go to Paradise Island/Atlantis--Once down there go out the back side of the market and head to the right, you will see boat that run from 9-6 to shuttle across to and from Paradise Island. Go over and check things out. This ride is informative both ways and is three dollars one way per person. The captain is pretty funny and fun to listen to. It is about a five minute trip - ten max! Sandals was amazing! The waters on the beach were excelllent also. It was definately a great place to vacation...we loved every minute of it! A word of advice- don't be afraid to ask people to take pictures, because they want one also. Have fun! We sure did!
