08/02/2006   Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel was actually bought out by another company and changed names while we were there. I think it changed to Resort Quest Wakiki Beach Hotel. We paid for an upgraded ocean front room, and it was worth it! The view was spectacular of the beach. The hotel had free breakfast every morning on the patio by the pool which was awesome and saved us alot of money. Tikis Bar&Grill which is the restaurant connected to the hotel was VERY good! You have to try the pork quesadillas - they were the best ever! The hotel is within walking distance of everything - beach, shops, food, etc. It was by far the best deal on the waikiki beach strip. The rooms were a little small, but perfect for 2 people. The other hotels look nice, but they are way over priced. As far as entertainment we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center - and we thought it was pretty cool - they had an Imax and some other cool stuff, but the grande show at the end of the night didn't seem so grand, and the food was just average. I would reccomend it for a first timer, but I probably wouldn't go again because it is only fun the first time. I would like to try a more traditional/romantic luau next time not a luau with thousands of other people. The hotel was the best deal for your money and right on the beach so I would HIGHLY recommend it! Thanks and email me if you have more questions!
