Reasons to Travel to St. Lucia
- Hiking: With 29 miles of trails, St. Lucia has plenty of rainforest to explore. Check out these hiking trails: Union Nature Trail and Mini-Zoo for easy trails and Enbas Saut Waterfalls Trail or Edmund Forest Reserve for more difficult hikes.
- Scuba Diving: Being at the tip of an underground volcano makes St. Lucia an exciting diving location. Sea life abounds and sunken ships produce artificial reefs, attracting even more marine life. Some of the best locations for diving are: Anse Chastanet, The Key Hole Pinnacles, Anse La Raye and Lesleen M Shipwreck. Couples will find Anse Chastanet a snorkelers' paradise. The waters here are part of a protected marine reserve with very restricted fishing, so there is an abundance of tropical fish around its reefs.
- Deep Sea Fishing: Resting between the deep Atlantic Ocean and the crystal clear Caribbean Sea, St. Lucia is home to some of the best deep sea fishing in the world. Often referred to as “an angler’s dream come true”, couples can charter a boat or take a fishing excursion to have a chance at catching some big fish.
- Whale and turtle watching: Twenty different species of whales migrate near St. Lucia, making it a great opportunity to experience hearing their amazing sounds and seeing them swim or jump by the boat.
- Historical sites: St. Lucia is rich in history. For those that love old forts, pirate hangouts, plantations and other heritage sites, there are plenty to visit. Fond Doux Estate, Fort Charlotte and Pigeon Island are a few of the interesting places to learn a little of times past.
